*A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2014.*

Matteo: You love stomping around at your grandparents' house in the Oregon country.  "Hi cows!" you shout, as we drive up the lane by two black and white cows.  "Hi deer!" you call, as two fawns glance up from grazing in the neighbor's front yard.  You throw rocks into a pond, spray water on ferns, and feel the soft moss clinging to the surface of an old-growth tree.  Even if you were born in Colorado, you're still an Oregon boy at heart.
